Turbine Blade Inspections

The non-destructive inspection of turbine blades is especially necessary in heavily loaded regions of small profiles, thus at the angles.

By the insertion of necessary cooling systems the sustainable volume will be once more reduced so that the load and the crack probability will increase again.

While the large blade surfaces can be inspected by the conventional eddy current inspection systems of the surface crack inspection without any problem, special sensor systems are indispensable for the heavily loaded angles.

By means of specialised eddy current sensors the angles of the turbine blades can be inspected in installed condition regarding cracks and the crack depths of the detected defects can be determined.

The documentation can be done in simple list form with good-bad-categorisation or by graphical presentation.
