Eddy Current Inspection of Flange Seal Surfaces

The inspection of flange seal surfaces regarding cracks and the determination of of the crack depth also belongs to the service scope of Delta Test.

For the execution of the inspection it is necessary to lead the probe system plane-parallelly to the inspection surface and in a continuously identical distance. In this connection any flange diameters – the orientation and position of which can be optional – in the range from DN 50 to DN 750 are inspected.

This variety of tasks was solved by a combination of a probe holding and guidance principle with a very effective sensor guidance:

By a superposition of translatory and rotatory movement of the sensor the detection of anyhow orientated defects is guaranteed.
